In-Person Marriage License Return Services

While celebrating your big day with all of your friends and family can be an amazing party and celebration, it is not what makes your marriage official. Here in the state of Virginia, your marriage is not technically legal and official until the courthouse has received your signed and completed marriage licenses. Most courthouses in the state offer one of two options; your officiant mailing them back in for you or you or a loved one bringing them back to them in person. While one of these options generally work for most couples, things like being in from out of state, immediate honeymoon plans, and the current instability of the USPS (most courthouses use PO boxes for returns so you can’t use other delivery services) can make it tricky for some couples.

For a nominal fee*, I will return your signed marriage licenses to the court within 5 business days from your ceremony date, obtain (4) certified copies you need as proof, and send them to you via a reliable courier (in most cased copies are received within 2-3 days).
